Frequently Asked
Questions

What is the difference between Kung Fu and other martial arts (Karate, Tae Kwon Do, etc)?
While all martial arts systems share the same goal through practice, i.e. self defense, physical health and mental well being, there are apparent differences between them. First and foremost, the roots of Karate and Jujitsu come from Japan. Tae Kwon Do was developed in Korea. While Shaolin Kung Fu as well as all other forms of Kung Fu were founded in China. In addition, Kung Fu is a martial arts system that employs circular motion for evasion and offense (to accept power), as apposed to Karate, Tae Kwon Do and other martial arts which utilize linear or straight patterns for defensive and attacking postures. This is the reason why Karate and Tae Kwon Do are referred to as "hard" styles and Kung Fu and other chinese martial arts are regarded as "soft" styles.
